Your role

 

We are looking for a dynamic reporter to file live and taped reports for our Winnipeg newsroom. In this role, you will pitch, research, write and present news stories for broadcast on local and national programs. The successful candidate will report for all editorial platforms as needed.

Please note: The work schedule may include weekend shifts and this is an on call position. Superior French-language skills are required as well.

This role requires full-time on-site presence.

We are looking for a candidate with the following: 

  • University degree or equivalent

  • Three (3) years directly related experience, including proven ability in the field and knowledge of the broadcasting industry

  • Excellent reporting and interviewing skills

  • Ease with live reporting

  • Bilingualism (English and French) required

  • Knowledge of Manitoba affairs and Franco-Manitoban community issues

  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada journalistic and programming policies

  • Ability to work flexible hours and on weekends as needed

  • Ability to work with a variety of teams

  • Critical-thinking abilities

  • Proven ability to work in a high-stress, tight-deadline environment

  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Understanding of the public broadcaster’s role and responsibilities

  • Valid driver’s licence, as well as a driving record that meets the criteria of CBC/Radio-Canada’s insurer
