Tennis Assistant / Assistant Tennis Coach
Reports To: Director of Racquet Sports / Head Tennis Professional
Status: Full‑time Year‑Round
Position Summary
The Tennis Assistant / Assistant Tennis Coach supports the Director of Racquet Sports in delivering high‑quality tennis instruction, programming, and member service. This role assists with lessons, clinics, junior programs, leagues, and daily court operations while promoting an engaging, professional, and welcoming tennis environment for members and guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with private lessons, group clinics, junior programs, camps, leagues, and events
- Help supervise and engage players of all ages and skill levels
- Support daily tennis operations, including court scheduling, setup, and breakdown
- Promote tennis programs and encourage member participation
- Assist with special events, mixers, tournaments, and social activities
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional environment on and off the courts
- Uphold club policies, tennis etiquette, and standards of conduct
- Communicate effectively with members, staff, and management
- Represent the tennis program and club in a positive and professional manner
Qualifications
- Playing and teaching experience preferred
- USPTA / PTR certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Comfortable working with juniors, adults, and senior players
- Dependable, organized, and team‑oriented
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and be physically active for extended periods
- Ability to demonstrate tennis skills and drills
- Ability to lift and carry tennis equipment as needed
Work Environment
- Outdoor tennis courts in varying weather conditions
- Fast‑paced, member‑focused private club setting
