Job Overview
As a field crew member, performs vacuum excavation tasks, geophysical prospecting for underground utilities and supports overall crew activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic understanding of conductive and non-conductive utility designating and the application of related equipment.
- Selects and applies appropriate geophysical prospecting equipment to accurately designate non-complex underground utility layouts.
- Basic comprehension and interpretation of utility and highway design plans, atlases, and record drawings.
- Performs minor maintenance and troubleshooting of vacuum systems.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience as a SUE Tech I or in the successful application of geophysical equipment in utility locating, such as for a contract utility locating firm or a major utility company
- Ability to stand/sit/walk and lift up to 40lbs to perform requirements.
- Possible work in inclement weather.
- Possible travel by motor vehicle or airplane of up to 2 weeks duration and overtime as needed.
- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver's license and driving records in good standing.
- Candidates who accept an employment offer must undergo a background check.
- Ability to obtain DOT medical card.
