Summer Student Accounting Analyst - Controller's Office (Work-Study Preferred)

Job Requirements: 

Full-time
student status (graduate or under-graduate); Sophomore and Upper classman
status in Accounting, Finance, or other related Business majors preferred;
College Work-Study award is preferred. Beginning May11th and ending August 23rd.  All

Job Description: 

Assist the Accounting Analysts:

  • Review
    journal entries
  • Perform
    various account reconciliations monthly
  • Identify
    incorrectly keyed organizations and programs twice monthly
  • Review
    weekly grant transactions for grant regulation compliance
  • Create
    journal entries for the fringe chargeback clearing account
  • Perform
    tasks for members of the Post-Award Services department as needed, such as
    subcontract invoicing, fringe benefit reconciliations, and overhead
    reconciliations
  • Reconcile
    University bank accounts
  • Track daily bank deposits
  • Contact other departments to locate, tag, and photograph new assets
  • Participate in various physical inventory counts
  • Perform additional tasks as needed for general department support

Work Schedule: 

Student
Accounting Analysts will have the opportunity to work up to 35 hours per week if
not enrolled in classes. Any deviation to the schedule must be discussed with
your supervisor in advance.

Qualifications: 

Sophomore
or Upperclassman status in Accounting or Finance required; knowledge of GAAP is
a must. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and other related software is
essential. High standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct
are expected, as well as adherence to the University Mission Statement.
