Job Purpose:
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and proper handling of all linens and guest laundry in accordance with property standards. This role plays a vital part in upholding the quality and presentation of guest experiences, maintaining efficient laundry operations, and supporting the broader housekeeping team to achieve overall service excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities:
Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize linens and guest laundry according to fabric type, color, and care instructions.
Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
Identify and treat stains following approved procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area at all times.
Handle all cleaning supplies in compliance with safety standards.
Opening Duties:
Clock in and pick up necessary keys.
Replenish pool towels and water jug in Building 7.
Clean the Fitness Room and refresh water jug.
Daily Shift Duties:
Assist housekeeping with room stripping and delivering guest items (cribs, air mattresses, etc.).
Ensure availability of clean linens for housekeeping staff throughout the day.
Support and train new laundry team members on procedures and standards.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure workflow efficiency.
Report any damaged or stained linens to the supervisor for removal or replacement.
Closing Duties:
Verify completion of all laundry assignments and restock linens as needed.
Power down laundry equipment and secure the work area.
Return all issued keys and clock out.
Review the next shift’s schedule or assignments.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous laundry or housekeeping experience in a hotel or similar environment preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work at a productive pace without sacrificing quality.
Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Professional Characteristics:
Punctual, dependable, and proactive in maintaining cleanliness standards.
Approachable and team-oriented with a willingness to assist across departments as needed.
Takes initiative and follows through on assignments with minimal supervision.
Able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
Must be comfortable working in environments that may be warm and humid due to equipment and conditions.
