Your Impact at SAM:

The nature of this role is to help prevent damages. The Damage Prevention Specialist works as a liaison to the homeowner and/or contractor and the cable company.

  • Practice safe dig practices in accordance to 811 dig law
  • Visit active job sites in a company provided vehicle to communicate to contractors or homeowners about safe dig practices in accordance to 811 dig law 
  • Facilitate fiber and coax marking corrections and updates as needed
  • Provide quality checks on utility markings
  • Accurately complete detailed documentation of daily activities 
  • Assist in identifying marked utilities, structures and maps and in the field
  • Perform operator level maintenance on assigned company tools and equipment as required
  • Other tasks as assigned


What You Bring to SAM:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with contractors, homeowners, and team members
  • Comfortable working independently in the field and solving problems as they arise
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
  • No prior utility locating experience required — we provide training
    Experience in utility location, damage prevention, or knowledge of 811 dig laws and safe excavation practices is a plus, but not required
