Work Experience Description:

Ideal for students who have begun gaining relevant experience and are building their skills through internships, part-time jobs, or significant projects. Typically aimed at sophomores or juniors who have completed a combination of introductory and advanced coursework.

The University Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team is seeking a detail-oriented student employee to serve as the central coordinator for campus event information. This role is responsible for gathering, maintaining, and publishing accurate and complete event details across the university website, email bulletins, and other digital channels.

Working closely with campus departments and MarCom teams, the Events Content Coordinator ensures that all events are consistently represented, up to date, and effectively communicated to campus audiences. This position plays a key role in supporting event visibility and coordination across the university’s digital ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of coordination for campus event information across departments.
  • Collect, verify, and maintain accurate event details (dates, times, locations, descriptions, assets).
  • Publish and update events on the university website and ensure consistency across platforms.
  • Coordinate event inclusion in email bulletins and other internal communication channels.
  • Monitor upcoming events and proactively follow up with departments to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure events meet publishing standards, including formatting, branding, and required information.
  • Support weekly devotional communications, including updating web content, descriptions, and related materials.
  • Assist in preparing recurring event communications such as “This Week” content.
  • Provide light support for event promotion efforts in collaboration with social media, design, and other MarCom teams.
  • Help maintain organization of event-related digital assets and information.
  • Support additional digital communications and marketing tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a BYU–Hawaii student.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written communication and editing abilities.
  • Comfortable working with websites, digital tools, and content management systems (or willingness to learn).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow up consistently with stakeholders.
  • Dependable and able to work independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Interest in communications, marketing, or digital media preferred.
  • Availability to work Tuesdays around devotional (10:30–12).
  • Occasional availability for evenings or weekends during major events is a plus.
