Project Manager

This position is located on site in Kalispell, MT.

About Star Electric of Montana

At Star Electric, our name stands for three things: quality work, skilled people, and keeping our word.

We believe in doing the job right the first time. Our team works hard, helps each other, and takes pride in what we build. When we say something will get done, we make sure it happens.

We expect a lot from our people. We work hard and hold each other accountable. At the same time, we enjoy the work and celebrate wins together. A strong team makes the job better for everyone.

We’re looking for a Project Manager who thinks like an owner, someone who keeps projects organized, solves problems, and helps the team finish strong.

Position Summary

The Project Manager runs commercial electrical projects from start to finish. You’ll work with field leaders, customers, and the office to keep jobs organized, on schedule, and moving forward.

The right person doesn’t wait to be told what to do. They step in, solve problems, and make sure the job keeps moving. They follow through and take responsibility for the results.

Key Responsibilities

Plan the Work

• Build and manage project schedules and budgets
• Coordinate materials, vendors, and subcontractors
• Keep project paperwork organized (RFIs, submittals, drawings, change orders)

Lead the Team

• Work with superintendents, foremen, and crews to keep jobs on track
• Communicate clearly with customers and vendors
• Remove problems that slow the team down

Solve Problems

• Spot issues early and help the team find solutions
• Help the team choose the best path forward
• Look for better ways to get the work done

Manage Cost & Schedule

• Track job costs, invoices, and change orders
• Watch schedules and fix delays early

Quality & Closeout

• Support safe, productive jobsites
• Make sure work meets our quality standards
• Help finish projects and close them out

This Role Might Be a Great Fit If…

• You enjoy building systems that keep projects organized
• You like helping teams make good decisions
• You get satisfaction from seeing projects through to the end
• You enjoy setting a plan and finishing what you start
• You’d rather share the win with the crew than take the spotlight

The Type of Person Who Thrives Here

People who succeed here think like owners.

They take responsibility when things go wrong instead of blaming others. They work hard and focus on fixing problems.

They’re humble enough to admit mistakes and ask for help. They’re driven to grow and take on more responsibility. And they’re good with people who are able to talk with crews, customers, and partners without adding drama.

They see a problem and step in to solve it.
