Now Brewing – senior business process advisor, Process Excellence & Transformation Enablement! #tobeapartner

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.

The team: Starbucks Global Business Services (GBS) provides shared capabilities and services that enable scale, consistency, and operational excellence across the enterprise. GBS works in close partnership with Business Units, Starbucks Technology, and strategic service providers to deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes while continuously evolving how work is performed.

The role: Starbucks Global Business Services (GBS) is seeking a Process Excellence & Transformation Enablement Lead to drive end‑to‑end process improvement, continuous improvement, and digital transformation across enterprise value streams. This role partners closely with Business Units, Starbucks Technology, and third‑party service providers to identify process pain points, translate them into business requirements, and shape prioritized technology and automation roadmaps. Operating within a developing end‑to‑end process ownership model, this role actively influences process standards, operating models, and governance. The role represents GBS on the Transformation Board and plays a critical role in enabling scalable, standardized, and digitally enabled operations.

As a Process Excellence & Transformation Enablement Lead, you will…
•    Own end‑to‑end process excellence across GBS‑supported value streams (e.g., Hire to Retire, Order to Cash, Source to Pay), partnering with Business Units, MSP/BPO, and GBS teams across onshore and offshore delivery.
•    Identify and map end‑to‑end workflows, including identifying process owners across the value chain and facilitating value stream mapping to establish shared understanding.
•    Identify and prioritize top process pain points (e.g., top 10 per value stream), assessing root causes, interdependencies, and business impact.
•    Partner with Business Units to translate prioritized pain points into clear, outcome‑based business requirements, ensuring readiness for technology or automation solutions.
•    Own the GBS transformation roadmap, including sequencing, prioritization, and trade‑off decisions across process, Continuous Improvement, and digital initiatives.
•    Partner with Starbucks Technology (ST) to negotiate prioritization and placement on technology roadmaps, translating business requirements into delivery‑ready inputs without owning core platform development.
•    Own and evolve the GBS continuous improvement approach, leading small‑to‑medium CI initiatives and partnering with Analytics to quantify impact (cycle time, quality, cost, capacity).
•    Enable governance and decision‑making by supporting transformation forums, facilitating automation and process improvement ideation, building business cases, coordinating with Starbucks Technology on road mapping and dependencies, and driving execution through influence rather than direct authority.

We’d love to hear from people with:
•    5+ years of progressive experience in process excellence, operational excellence, transformation, or continuous improvement roles within a large, complex, or shared services environment
•    This role is well‑suited for candidates coming from process excellence, enterprise transformation, operations product, or business‑technology enablement backgrounds.
•    Demonstrated experience leading end‑to‑end process analysis, including value stream mapping, identifying cross‑functional pain points, and driving prioritization across multiple stakeholders
•    Proven ability to translate business pain points into clear, outcome‑based business requirements, and partner with technology teams to shape roadmaps and delivery sequencing
•    Experience partnering with MSPs / BPOs to identify automation or process improvement opportunities across onshore and offshore delivery models
•    Strong continuous improvement practitioner skillset, including Lean thinking, root cause analysis, stabilization, and simplification (methodology‑pragmatic rather than framework‑driven)
•    Experience owning or influencing transformation or improvement roadmaps, including trade‑off decision‑making, prioritization, and negotiation within matrixed organizations
•    Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, facilitating cross‑functional forums and governance bodies, and delivering outcomes without direct authority
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; PMP, Lean, or other relevant certifications considered a plus but not required
