    TITLE:  Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)/Response to Intervention   K-2 (RTI)  Coordinator
     

    DEFINITION:

    A staff member responsible for organizing and implementing a district wide Multi-Tiered System of Supports to ensure students' academic and behavioral needs are identified and supported so that students can reach their fullest potentials. The coordinator will work directly with students, teaching staff, administration and outside services to provide necessary support for students to maximize student learning and welfare.   
     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1.  Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Special Education or related field.
    2. The individual must be appropriately certified and/or licensed in the endorsed area by the State of     Colorado as provided by law.
    3.  Master's Degree in Education, Counseling or related field is preferred

    4.  Demonstrated ability to communicate with students, teachers, parents and citizens of the community.
    5.  Demonstrated ability to implement effective public relations.
    6.  Organizational skills to complete tasks responsibly.
    7.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable

    The Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent
     

    JOB GOALS:

    1. Coordinate a multi-tiered model of support delivery that identifies student needs, establishes appropriate research-based interventions and enables the efficient use of school resources
    2. Coordinate efforts between school district, families, and support services to meet the needs of identified students

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    The duties and responsibilities of the MTSS Coordinator will include, but not be limited to the following:
     

    1. Coordinate district efforts to provide high-quality instruction and interventions that are matched to student needs, monitoring progress frequently to make decisions about changes in instruction or goals, and applying student response data to guide important educational decisions
    2. Facilitate building level MTSS meetings that include continual application of a structured problem-solving process and involves staff, families and support services
    3. Ensures the implementation of evidence-based behavioral practices as determined by MTSS team
    4. Establish written policies, practices and implementation plans
    5. Establish and maintain a system of communication between families, students, and staff to share areas of success, address implementation barriers, and ensure ongoing fidelity of MTSS implementation across the district
    6. Other duties as assigned

     TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    1. Number of days assigned annually.
    2. Salary to be negotiated with the Board of Education.

     

    EVALUATION:

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy and procedure for evaluation of certified/licensed staff.
