Description
The Family Support Aide is responsible for the direct care of and supervision of the children.
Requirements
Qualifications:
-This position requires a minimum of High School Education. Specific vocational training in childcare is preferred.
-Ability to work as a team member and have good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
-A working knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory body rules and regulations.
Specific Areas of Responsibilities:
- Provides children with hygiene care as needed.
- Promotes a good working and safe environment.
- Provides hands-on interaction with children.
- Feeds children’s meals on an as-needed basis.
- Plans and organizes structured activities for the children.
- Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural diversity.
- Familiar with agency Policies and Procedures.
- Promotes praise and motivation of children in a positive manner.
- Participates in the agency’s Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program
- Contributes to the understanding and acceptance of cultural diversity within the agency and the community;
- Complies with all relevant JCAHO standards and regulations.
- Utilizes the agency’s resources in a fiscally conservative manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Skills/Abilities:
- Must be open-minded and willing to follow instructions
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stoop, run, climb, and actively participate in activities related to the age of the group.
- Must have a good driving record for at least 5 years
- Must be willing to learn
- Must be willing and able to work well with others and cooperate in all aspects of the Case Management Program
