Position Summary
The Rotary Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of rotating and mechanical equipment within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring plant reliability, safety, and operational uptime.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair rotating equipment across the facility
Perform maintenance on:
Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
Steam turbines
Centrifugal and positive displacement compressors
Parallel shaft and right-angle drive gearboxes
Hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders
Process loading arms
Fans, blowers, and associated drive systems
Layout, fabricate, assemble, and install piping/plumbing systems for steam, water, heating, cooling, and lubrication systems
Interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and data books
Operate equipment post-repair to test, measure, and verify performance
Perform precision measurements using micrometers, dial indicators, and laser alignment tools
Utilize shop equipment such as drill presses, hydraulic presses, bench grinders, and hand tools
Maintain compliance with plant safety policies and procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience (chemical or process manufacturing preferred)
Strong troubleshooting skills with rotating equipment
Proficiency with precision alignment and measurement tools
Must achieve a passing score on a written technical exam
Safety-oriented mindset in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to work more than 8 hours in a day and 40+ hours per week as required
Must be authorized to work in the United States
