Responsibilities:

Apply laboratory experience for research related to chemical detection, protective materials, decontamination, chemical demilitarization, and other military lifecycle programs. Provide qualified laboratory, technical, programmatic, and administrative services. Assist with the setup, operation, maintenance, and cleanup of lab equipment and instrumentation for experiments. Perform wet chemistry procedures.

  • Support test planning and reporting activities and administrative requirements.
  • Conduct hands-on chemical laboratory testing, data collection, and analysis of chemicals including toxic industrial chemicals using a variety of instruments. Ensure laboratory experiments are performed safely.
  • Support gas and liquid chromatography sample analysis.
  • Support test setup, cleanup, decontamination, chemical inventory management and waste disposal.
  • Work within the existing quality system and follow all regulations guiding the use and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Support the assessment of infrastructure changes needed for safe laboratory operations and assist in report preparation.
  • Contribute to data analysis, presentations, technical reports and research publications.
  • Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. An Associate’s degree in science with 4 years additional experience will be considered.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay: $68k - $78k
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week
  • 401K with up to 4% employer matching contribution

  • 3 years’ experience in chemical laboratory testing and analysis.
  • Expertise performing wet chemistry techniques and operation and maintenance of lab instrumentation such as gas/liquid chromatography.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly, multitask, and complete work within schedule.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience performing methodology development, product/material testing, and incorporation of referee instrumentation in testing.
  • DoD Secret clearance.
