Job Purpose
The Accounting Manager (CPA) will oversee accounting operations, including the preparation of financial statements, general ledger maintenance, and compliance with both local and international accounting standards. The role requires expertise in PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority) and BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) compliance, as well as end-to-end accounting functions. The Senior Accountant will work with the accounting team to ensure accurate reporting, and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. This position involves frequent collaboration with various internal departments and US counterparts and will report directly to the Finance Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions and financial statements.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all PEZA and BIR regulatory requirements, including tax filings, returns, and audits.
Lead the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, Intercompany, payroll, reconciliations, and fixed assets.
Monitor and review journal entries, accounting policies, and financial statements to ensure compliance with internal controls.
Compute payroll processing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with tax laws and company policies.
Assist HR with tax annualization for employees, ensuring that all tax adjustments are made in accordance with BIR regulations, including the correct withholding tax on compensation.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support decision-making processes.
Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure timely audits and tax filings.
Ensure proper handling of tax exemptions, VAT, and withholding taxes for PEZA-registered company.
Review tax-related documents, including tax returns, remittances, and reports, for submission to the BIR and other government agencies.
Work closely with US counterparts to ensure alignment of accounting practices, reporting requirements, and cross-border compliance.
Report directly and work closely with Finance Director, providing updates on accounting operations, issues, and key financial metrics.
Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
- Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
- Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a must.
At least 7 years of experience in a senior role.
A minimum of 10 years of overall accounting experience in a corporate environment.
Extensive knowledge of PEZA and BIR tax compliance regulations.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounting software, preferably NetSuite.
Extensive experience with end-to-end accounting processes, including financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation.
Proven ability to lead a team of accounting professionals.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with other departments and international teams.
Experience in collaborating with US counterparts, understanding US GAAP, and adapting to global accounting practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Proactive and results-oriented with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment

- Work Schedule: Must be amenable to work on day and mid shifts following PH business hours.
