Key Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery and tools used in the fabrication of plastic components.

  • Monitor equipment to ensure proper operation; immediately report malfunctions or irregularities to your supervisor.

  • Measure, cut, and prepare materials according to specifications and work orders.

  • Package and label finished products with correct identification and documentation.

  • Maintain accurate records of production data, quality checks, and material usage.

  • Inspect materials and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards, including measurements, color, and surface condition.

  • Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE and adherence to lockout/tagout requirements.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company housekeeping standards.

  • Support team production goals and communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and support departments.

  • Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery.

  • Requires wearing personal protective equipment (hearing, eye, and hand protection).

  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, and material handling.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or plastics extrusion preferred.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed to meet production goals.

Summary

The Fabrication Technician is responsible for operating machinery and performing hands-on fabrication processes used in the production of plastic components. This position plays a key role in ensuring that products are manufactured safely, accurately, and meet CPI’s high-quality standards.
