TITLE: Coordinator of Integrated Student Support
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support Services
Position Summary
The Coordinator of Integrated Student Support provides leadership, coordination, and direct support for students requiring intensive behavioral health, social-emotional, and mental health interventions across grades 6–12. This position serves as a bridge between school-based supports, families, and outside providers to ensure students receive comprehensive, coordinated care that promotes academic success, well-being, and school connectedness.
The Coordinator manages high-risk student cases, supports re-entry planning following hospitalization or treatment, connects student or family with direct clinical services when appropriate, and collaborates closely with counselors, administrators, educators, and community agencies to develop and monitor individualized support plans.
This role is grounded in proactive intervention, student belonging, and whole-child support to ensure every learner has access to the resources needed to thrive.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, School Counseling, School Psychology, or a related field required.
- PA Certification in School Psychology, School Social Work, or School Counseling required.
- Administrative experience or Certification preferred.
Experience as a school counselor, school psychologist, school social worker, or similar student support role strongly preferred
- Experience working with adolescents and families in crisis situations preferred
- Experience in community mental health, behavioral health, or crisis care, or previous experience as a school psychologist, social worker, or school counselor is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional relationship-building and collaboration skills
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and student behavioral health supports
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism
- Strong leadership, organization, and case management skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, staff, and outside agencies
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Clinical Services
- Conduct student assessments related to behavioral health, emotional wellness, and social-emotional functioning
- Provide short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and arrange for therapeutic support for students in grades 6–12
- Connect students with grief counseling groups, emotional support groups, and targeted intervention sessions
- Support students experiencing significant mental health challenges, school avoidance, disengagement, or crisis situations
- Respond to urgent student behavioral health concerns in collaboration with administrators and school counselors
Clinical Oversight and Student Case Management
- Maintain and closely support a caseload of high-risk students requiring intensive intervention
- Develop individualized student intervention, and re-entry plans following hospitalization, treatment placement, or extended absence
- Monitor student progress through regular communication with teachers, counselors, support staff, and families
- Gather and analyze ongoing feedback from staff regarding student functioning, attendance, engagement, and academic progress
- Ensure continuity of care and alignment of supports across school settings
Operational Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school district and outside providers including therapists, psychiatrists, hospitals, partial programs, behavioral health agencies, and community specialists
- Coordinate communication and collaboration with external agencies supporting students and families
- Facilitate school-based planning meetings involving families, providers, and school teams
- Support compliance with student support plans, safety plans, and behavioral intervention plans
Family and Community Support
- Connect students and families with community resources, mental health services, and support networks
- Provide families with guidance regarding available behavioral health supports and referral pathways
- Assist parents in navigating treatment systems, insurance resources, and external support services
- Strengthen school-family partnerships to promote student success and belonging
Leadership and Collaboration
- Serve in a leadership role on Middle and High School SAP Teams
- Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, student services staff, school psychologists, nurses, and educators to support student needs
- Support district initiatives related to student belonging, behavioral health, suicide prevention, and student wellness
- Provide recommendations for systemic improvements to intervention practices and support structures
- Assist with staff training related to student behavioral health awareness, intervention strategies, and crisis response
Professional Development and Training
- Support training for faculty and staff related to behavioral health concerns including suicide prevention, mindfulness, deescalation, etc…
- Coordinate efforts to inform students of school resources such as the Chill Room, School Counselors, S2SS, etc…

Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) months. Salary is commensurate with experience. Work schedule and other conditions of employment are in accordance with the South Fayette School District policies and procedures. This is considered an Act 93 position.
