SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Controls Engineering Intern will work with the Controls Team to gain a thorough understanding of the career field to include theory and practical application of obtained knowledge. The Controls Engineering Intern will perform a variety of basic controls engineering, technical and administrative tasks.

- Support the team as necessary to achieve the set targets.
- To design, develop and improve new and existing processes. To understand the effects of process variables on the engineering performance of components, optimizing process capabilities, costs and material flow and commissioning and layout of plant and equipment
- Support Controls Engineers while they participate in Controls System manufacturing, and commissioning on Ascent Aerospace shop floor.
- Begin developing customer relations within customer engineering groups.
- Assist cross-functioning teams in project specific controls engineering activities, design, process, programming, etc.
- Assist with projects from cost analysis to completion and provide timely updates on project status.
- Any additional duties reasonably assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- Pursuing a Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Some exposure with PLC/HMI preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
- Some experience with 3D CAD modeling software and data management tools
- Demonstrated experience working with cross functional teams.
- This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22.C.F.R. § is required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some projects may require more out-of-the-area and overnight travel.

- May be required to travel to other site locations during the work day
- May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands
- Work with safe manufacturing processes and understand that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
