Experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at a busy recycling facility in Eugene, Oregon. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience working with diesel engines, have the ability to read schematics and perform diagnostics, and have strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of diesel engines and other heavy machinery
  • Diagnose and repair faults in diesel engines and associated systems
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and service manuals
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines
  • Ensure all repairs are carried out in accordance with relevant safety regulations and standards
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out on equipment and machinery
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Strong understanding of diesel engine principles and systems
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Must have a valid driver's license, transportation, and own tools
