Job Description

Description

The Production Operator is responsible for performing daily manufacturing, inspection, and packaging of powder metal products. This includes processes such as ID grinding, horizontal and vertical double-disc grinding, centerless grinding, assembly, carburization, and steam treatment. Operators play a vital role in ensuring product quality, safe operation, and efficient production flow.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures
  • Promote safe practices and support training other personnel

Production

  • Load and unload process lines as needed
  • Complete required paperwork including POS, SPC charts, Time Matrix, and Tags
  • Review work instructions and process sheets daily to ensure compliance
  • Package part per customer specifications and internal requirements

Quality

  • Perform checks as required using gauges, destructive testing devices, and measurement tools.
  • Inspect parts for imperfections, dimensional inconsistencies, or contamination
  • Remove defective products from production flow as required

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Communicate with team members, lead operators, and management to support production goals
  • Lead by example in professionalism and support of company policies

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for cost control, efficiency, and process improvement
  • Participate in TPM and continuous improvement teams

 

Requirements

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Prior manufacturing or production experience preferred
  • Ability to read and follow process sheets and instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Team player with good communication skills
