RD Nutrition Consultants is hiring a Director of Dining Services to oversee food service operations within a healthcare setting. This leadership role is ideal for a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) who is experienced in managing dietary teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality dining services to residents.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values resident satisfaction, and is comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with operational support.


Position Overview

  • Schedule: Full-time
  • Setting: Long-Term Care / Healthcare Dining Services
  • Compensation: $28.00–$32.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Benefits: Available through RD Nutrition Consultants

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise dietary staff to ensure high-quality food service and resident satisfaction
  • Oversee daily kitchen and dining room operations, including staffing, scheduling, and payroll
  • Maintain compliance with DOH/DPW regulations and internal policies
  • Manage food and supply ordering, budgeting, and cost control
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping (HACCP logs, temperature logs, cleaning schedules, etc.)
  • Maintain and update Matrix Nutrition Management system (tray tickets, menus, preferences, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Registered Dietitians and interdisciplinary teams to support clinical nutrition needs
  • Conduct resident meal rounds and gather dietary preferences
  • Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of dietary staff
  • Coordinate special events, seasonal menus, and catering functions
  • Support kitchen operations as needed, including cooking and service coverage
  • Ensure infection control practices and safety standards are consistently followed

Qualifications

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification required
  • Experience in healthcare, long-term care, or senior living dining services preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, regulatory compliance, and nutrition services
  • Experience with dietary software systems (Matrix preferred)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and hands-on approach to leadership
