- Introduce not yet believers to the gospel and provide opportunities for current believers to grow in spiritual maturity
- Coaches will be expected to help present AIA’s More Than a Game talks as well as lead small group discussions with participating athletes.
- Motivate, encourage and inspire volunteers and athletes to share their faith with friends, family, teammates and coaches.
- Help fight negative views of sport by sharing the gospel and coaching with the goal of transformation.
- Facilitate a sport experience that is first class.
- Attend coach’s training, camp meetings and orientations.
- Work closely with a coaching team, volunteers and additional AIA staff to ensure roles and responsibilities are accomplished.
- Apply age and skill appropriate teaching techniques for sport specific skills and physical literacy.
- Network and build relationships with key influencers in the sports community.
- Communicate the stories and experiences of camp with the Regional Director
- You have varsity/post secondary sports involvement (preferred, not required)
- You have previous coaching experience (preferred, not required)
- You have a deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and desire to grow as a leader
- You would be committed to Athletes in Actions’ leadership methods and ministry models
- You have the ability to understand and implement coaching tools and strategies to promote skill development in athletes
- You have the ability to create a safe, fun and exciting learning environment
- You have the ability to work well within the structure of a team
- You have an understanding of and passion for the athletic world
- You have a heart for evangelism and the ability to communicate the gospel clearly
- You have good time management, an ability to be flexible and willingness to take initiative
- You have the ability to communicate effectively with small and large groups
