Parental Leave High School Spanish Teacher


This position is for the fall semester only - August 10 - December 18, 2026


 


Job Description:


The DePaul College Prep World Language Department seeks a collaborative, energetic, and positive educator for the role of a Spanish teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:


 



  • Open-minded, enthusiastic individual with a passion and appreciation for a range of cultures & languages;

  • Eager and willing to collaborate with members of a growing world language team;

  • Comfortable working in a growing, dynamic work environment;

  • Familiar with the implementation of ACTFL standards;

  • Familiar with the creation and implementation of ACTFL-based IPAs;

  • Is fluent and/or has full working proficiency in the target language;

  • Competent or willing to learn to become competent in curriculum & assessment design;

  • Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;

  • Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching. 


 


Qualifications:


BA/BS in Spanish 


Illinois PEL or other state PEL that can be transferred to IL preferred


MA/MS degree in the content area or MEd is preferred

Salary Range: 


Minimum/Starting - Maximum $48,000 - $98,000
