Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach 12 credit hours per semester of American Sign Language and Deaf Studies as assigned.
- Develop syllabi for courses and ensure course content meets all requirements.
- Provide a quality learning experience for all students in accordance with their needs and abilities while maintaining the basic integrity of course standards and objectives.
- Deliver timely and meaningful feedback to students on progress in courses.
- Utilize Blackboard as LMS for student assignments, announcements, grades, and feedback.
- Use GoReact software for student assignments and feedback in appropriate courses.
- Comply with all record keeping requirements.
- Participate in planning and assessing student and course success.
- Other appropriate duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in American Sign Language Teaching, American Sign Language Linguistics, or Communication Specialized in American Sign Language.
- American Sign Language Teachers Association (ASLTA) Certification: Master or Certified.
- An ability to work with a variety of learning styles and skill levels
- An ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and administrators
Preference will be given to applicants with college-level teaching experience.
