Security risks are materializing worldwide, driven by factors including wars, terrorism, natural disasters, and deteriorating public safety. These risks pose direct threats to employee safety and company assets, and have broad impacts on business operations, including supply chain disruption, project suspension, demand slowdown, and financial market instability.
In response, companies are strengthening information gathering and analysis as a foundation for flexibly responding to changes and uncertainties. For companies operating globally or in industries susceptible to international affairs, daily information gathering and analysis are essential to minimizing unexpected damage.
Control Risks has over 200 security experts and geopolitical risk analysts across 34 offices worldwide, providing objective analysis on the ever-changing security risk and geopolitical landscape. As part of this effort, we aim to further expand our online platform in the Japanese market.
A particular focus is a SaaS-based risk monitoring tool (developed by a U.S. group company) that combines AI-driven analysis with expert analyst insights, offering both immediacy and analytical depth. The tool is used by private-sector companies worldwide and by government agencies in Japan and the United States. Beyond security risks, it provides intelligence on political, operational, and cyber domains, enabling effective risk management amid increasing international uncertainty.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following four areas:
1. Business Strategy Development: Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and drive the business strategy for online solutions in the Japanese market.
2. Sales: Work with Account Managers to lead the sales process for specific clients — including presenting use cases, conducting demos, and providing implementation consulting.
3. Operations Support: Proactively support existing clients’ operations to increase solution adoption and utilization, leading to contract renewals, cross-selling, and upselling opportunities.
4. Stakeholder Communication: Build trusted relationships with the solution developer (and UK headquarters as needed) and manage necessary communications — relaying feedback and requests from the Japanese market to the developer, and sharing release updates and use cases with Account Managers in the Tokyo office in a timely manner.
