Job Description

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world’s best pre-K through 12th grade private schools, where approximately 2,200 students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with a cost-free home and a top-notch education.  Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey in 1909, the school is fully endowed today, with the resources to ensure students can thrive.  The school has prepared over 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and is expanding to serve more students. 

MHS provides enrolled students an amazing multitude of athletic opportunities, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and programs led by committed coaching staffs. We are currently seeking a Wrestling Varsity Assistant Coach for a one-year ancillary position at the High School. The coach is responsible for leading the program year-round to develop students athletically and competitively, as well as instilling character so they excel in their sport and in life.  Our programs have produced many successful seasons ending with Mid Penn Conference, PIAA District III, and PIAA State Championships. Many athletes also advance to play at the college level after graduation from MHS.

The season runs from November through March. Practice times vary Monday through Saturday. Off-season work is flexible and necessary for this position.


 


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 1 year of successful coaching experience with demonstrated success in establishing a highly competitive program, while also instilling high quality character.

  • Must have current knowledge of techniques, rules and regulations, and training theory of the sport.

  • Ability to teach beginning and advanced soccer skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead & inspire diverse youth.  Experience working with lower income students preferred.

  • Ability to interact with student athletes at different skill levels in a positive and professional manner.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written).

  • Demonstrated exceptional organizational and planning skills.

  • Candidates must demonstrate high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.

  • Must be eager to build the program & invest in student talent development year-round.
