At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, and lines of code. We’re the thrill of the first night in a new place, the excitement of the next morning, the friends you make, the journeys you take, the sights you see, and the food you sample. Through our products, partners and people, we can empower everyone to experience the world.
Our Data and Machine Learning department is responsible on ensuring our customer data is compliant with regulatory requirements from all over the world. We are responsible for building tools to simplify and automate all processes as well as the tools for the day to day experience for our engineers, data scientists, data stewards and ML engineers.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong hands-on Engineering Manager. This role is primarily to manage, coach and develop an engineering team, ensuring the development of both the individual and team as a whole are in line with organizational objectives and direction. You should be a technically strong role model to help your team advance and develop. The role will require analyzing technology and human talent needs, together with market demand. In addition to this, you will have to collaborate and work closely with other leaders, key stakeholders and Machine Learning teams to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness and scalability for new and existing products.
The team that you will manage is responsible for our enterprise data catalogue, from ingesting the metadata, to connecting it to all the tooling in the company - and later in the holding - to ensure proper governance to our data.
