Cardiology Procedure Scheduler:
    Responsibilities include:
  • Scheduling cardiac procedures at area hospitals.
  • Coordinating pre-procedure testing. 
  • Obtaining insurance authorization for cardiac procedures from patient's insurance carrier.
  • Completing detailed and accurate procedure packets. 
  • Working closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to coordinate procedures based on acuity. 
  • Developing and maintaining open lines of communication with hospital procedure schedulers in various departments. 
  • Updating and maintaining physician procedure calendars. 
  • Working directly with patients to coordinate procedures, review details about the procedures and provide pre & post procedure instruction. 
  • Coordinating post procedure follow-up. 
  • Answering incoming calls from patients, providers and hospital staff. 
  • Detailed and accurate documentation in the EMR. 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required, preferably in a medical office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate up to date knowledge of the profession and industry
  • Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
  • Must be willing to travel between sites as needed
