Position Summary
This is an excellent opportunity for a student or early‑career individual interested in accounting, finance, or office administration to gain hands‑on experience in a professional corporate environment.
Reporting to the Shared Services Lead, AR & AP – North America, the Accounting Assistant will support day‑to‑day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, along with general accounting and office support tasks. The role provides broad exposure to core accounting processes and is well‑suited for someone looking to build a foundation in finance and business operations.
This is a fixed‑term role through August or early September, ideal for a summer student or short‑term contract appointment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Support
- Assist with reconciling customer accounts and preparing customer statements
- Post customer payments and cash receipts in the accounting system
- Respond to basic billing and payment inquiries from internal teams and customers
Accounts Payable Support
- Enter vendor invoices accurately into the accounting system
- Assist with reconciling vendor statements, corporate Visa statements and fuel card statements
- Request and follow up on missing invoices or supporting documentation
- Support cheque preparation, mailing, and attachment of required back‑up
Cash Management & Reconciliations
- Assist with daily cash close‑outs
- Support monthly bank reconciliations as required
Administrative & Audit Support
- Gather and prepare documentation for audit support requests
- Contact internal locations to obtain missing receipts or documentation (e.g., courier receipts)
- Complete general office duties including filing, scanning, photocopying, and document organization
- Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the finance team

(Previous accounting experience is an asset but not required — training will be provided.)
Working Conditions
- In‑office role based in Rocky View County, AB
- Core working hours to be within 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM MST/MDT
- Additional hours may be required during peak periods
- Manual dexterity required for computer use
