Expected Outcomes and Requirements:

Gateway is hiring a Field Engineer to assist in building and maintaining our network expansion efforts in support of Gateway’s growth trajectory of adding 100,000 residential & business passings per year. The Field Engineer is expected to contribute in the following significant ways:

  • Manage all physical connectivity of equipment in Central Offices and Active Cabinets.
  • Complete installation of server racks and cabinets.
  • Install optical transceivers and fiber optic jumpers.
  • Work cross-functionally to determine connectivity requirements for different departments.
  • Complete equipment racking and grounding to design specifications.
  • Perform cable continuity testing and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Perform equipment and hardware testing and turn-up and verify appropriate status.
  • Install, add, and remove batteries per design specifications and life cycle needs.
  • Provide knowledge and input regarding network engineering and design capabilities.
