Job Description

Steves & Sons, Inc., a sixth-generation, family-owned door manufacturer with over 160 years of craftsmanship and innovation, is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and strengthen our quality management systems across manufacturing operations.

This leadership role is responsible for driving quality excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, improving production processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Position Summary

The Quality Manager will oversee all aspects of quality assurance and quality control within the facility, including process standardization, audits, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and cross-functional quality initiatives. This individual will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to ensure product integrity, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the facility’s Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and controls
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Oversee internal audits, external audits, and compliance requirements
  • Analyze quality data and KPIs to identify trends and implement corrective actions
  • Manage customer complaints and ensure timely resolution through structured problem-solving processes
  • Partner with production and engineering teams to reduce defects and improve first-pass yield
  • Lead supplier quality initiatives and vendor performance reviews
  • Train and mentor quality team members to build internal capability
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and industry standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related field (preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, statistical process control (SPC), and audit procedures
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a production environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Experience in building materials or manufacturing industries is a plus
