Title: Secretary/Bookkeeper
Responsible for carrying out secretarial and/or bookkeeper duties at the school level.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or beyond.
2. Score Silver or higher on the ACT Work Keys National Career Readiness Certificate OR completion of 48 college hours OR have earned an Associate's Degree or beyond.
Reports to:
Person designated by the school principal or superintendent.
Supervises:
Staff members designated by the school principal, superintendent or his/her designee.
Job Goal:
To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office's maximum position impact on the education of children can be realized.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Maintains a daily teacher attendance log and records for substitute teachers.
2. Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed and puts it into usable form.
3. Maintains a regular filing system, as well as a set of locked confidential files, and processes incoming correspondence as instructed.
4. Places and receives telephone calls and records messages.
5. Orders and maintains supplies as needed.
6. Performs any bookkeeping tasks associated with payroll.
7. Maintains a schedule of appointments and makes arrangements for conferences and interviews.
8. Responsible for recording / depositing receipts.
9. Processes purchase requisitions and invoices for payment.
10. Receives packages, verifies packing slip and signs off on Purchase Order.
11. Submits docket as scheduled.
12. Maintains and prepares monthly payroll for school site to submit to county office
13. Operates word processors, computers, calculators, copiers and facsimile machines.
14. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
Terms of Employment:
Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
