Job Description

Job Summary
 

Performs a variety of warehouse, inventory, facility support, and customer service duties to ensure smooth operations for fairgrounds events and year-round activities. Responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and transporting supplies, equipment, and materials while maintaining safety, organizational standards and strong vendor relations.  


 

Key
Responsibilities
 

  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments for accuracy and damage. 
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment. 
  • Organize, store, and rotate inventory in warehouse and storage areas. 
  • Pull and stage materials and equipment for events, fairs, and facility needs. 
  •  Coordinate daily with vendor deliveries and pick-ups, ensuring timely and accurate processing of  products. 
  •  Provide direct customer service to vendors and contractors shipping to and picking up products   from the warehouse 
  •  Maintain professional communication with vendors to resolve discrepancies and support operational needs. 
  •  Deliver materials to various departments across the grounds in a timely manner. 
  •  Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and storage areas. 
  •  Follow all state safety guidelines and OSHA regulations. 
  •  Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed. 
  •  Work collaboratively with event staff, maintenance teams, and vendors. 


 

 

Skills & Qualifications
 

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control procedures. 
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely. (will train) 
  •  Strong customer service skill with the ability to interact professionally with vendors. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to lift heavy materials (often 50+ lbs). 
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. 
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills. 
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules. 


 

Work Environment
 

Combination of indoor warehouse and outdoor fairgrounds environment. Heavy customer service-based setting with vendors frequently shipping, delivering, and picking up products. Fast-paced during the fair season. Physically demanding role requiring standing, lifting, bending, and moving equipment regularly.
