Purpose Statement
The job of Network Analyst is done for the purpose/s of analyzing departmental and individual requirements for automated solutions and using these findings to develop program specifications; maintaining programs and systems used within the district; serving as technical advisor to staff and other district personnel; and performing necessary programming to develop file server based applications.
Essential Functions
- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Collaborates and develops application protocols and systems including analysis, testing and documenting for the purpose of installing computerized alternatives to manual processes and/or ensuring that required specifications are met.
- Composes documents (e.g. correspondence, bulletins, reports, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel.
- Conducts customer interviews for the purpose of analyzing departmental and individual requirements for automated solutions and developing program specifications.
- Designs and reviews network servers and supporting software for the purpose of ensuring ongoing system and network processes are within district standards.
- Implements applications shared by multiple users for the purpose of using appropriate file and/or record locking, journaling and database organization techniques.
- Incorporates workstation and LAN/WAN security procedures and access levels (e.g. firewalls, anti virus software, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that district standards are met.
- Installs third party package software and upgrades (e.g. system images, patches and updates, etc.) for the purpose of meeting vendor and district requirements and ensuring the integrity of network.
- Maintains existing programs and systems for the purpose of meeting district requirements and ensuring the integrity of network.
- Manages the workstation and printer inventory by use of network utilities for the purpose of ensuring that district standards are met.
- Responds to inquiries related to systems and program design, development, test and implementation for the purpose of solving problems, providing information and/or providing direction as may be required.
- Trains selected personnel for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use new and/or existing software applications.

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, highly complex, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: applying pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws; communicating with person of varied cultural and educational backgrounds; operating standard of equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a department, large work unit, and/or across several small work units; operating within a defined budget. Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Education Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area.
