Position Overview:
Sets up and operates variety of woodworking machines and uses various hand tools to fabricate and repair aircraft interior components and high grade furniture by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions:
It is essential for all employees to adhere to Company policies.
- Studies drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired, and plans sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed
- Marks outline or dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock
- Matches materials for color, grain, or texture
- Sets up and operators woodworking machines such as power saws, jointer, to cut and shape parts from woodstock
- Trims component parts of joints to ensure snug fit
- Bores holes for inserts, pins or dowels
- Glues, fits, clamps parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit
- Drives pins or other fasteners into joints at designated places to reinforce joints
- Sands and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare articles for finishing
- Repairs high grade articles of furniture
- Installs hardware such as hinges, catches, strikers, and drawer pulls and slides

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Proficient with Outlook, ERP Manufacturing software, shop floor manager, and time and attendance payroll systems
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Working conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.
