Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         PLC and HMI programming:

o   Design, program, and troubleshoot control systems using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs). 

o   Implement, test, and optimize systems for various industrial applications. 

o   Collaborate with cross-functional teams and providing technical support to end-users. 

·         Electrical System Design:

o   Design and optimize electrical systems for reliability and efficiency, considering both performance and safety.

o   Collaborate with team members to incorporate safety measures into all electrical designs.

·         Preventive Maintenance:

o   Establish and execute maintenance programs in collaboration with Field Services to enhance the reliability of electrical equipment.

·         Safety Compliance:

o   Ensure that all electrical work adheres to relevant codes, standards, and regulations.              

·         Troubleshooting and Support:

o   Provide technical support for troubleshooting electrical issues.

o   Assist team members in addressing complex electrical problems.

·         Documentation and Reporting:

o   Maintain accurate records of electrical systems, studies, and compliance measures.

Requirements

Education – B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from accredited 4-year engineering program.  

Experience – Minimum Five years related experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - 

  • Strong PLC and HMI programming experience
  • Strong Industrial controls knowledge
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and safety standards (IEEE, OSHA).
  • Advanced NEC and NFPA knowledge
  • Electrical modeling software experience (ETAP or equal preferred)
  • AC motors, DC motors, Variable Speed Drives
  • Project estimating

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our customers’ electrical systems.  Under the general direction of the Engineering Manager, the Controls Engineer provides control system designs, PLC and HMI programming and support to customers and in-house personnel.
