About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Leasing Specialist to support a US-based property management company specializing in affordable housing communities. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in verification-heavy processes who are looking to build expertise in US housing compliance and leasing operations.
You will play a key role in evaluating applicant eligibility, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting efficient leasing workflows. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an international client while gaining exposure to specialized affordable housing programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intake and verification of prospective residents’ financial eligibility, including income, assets, and liabilities
- Review and validate applicant documentation to ensure compliance with affordable housing requirements
- Process applications, recertifications, and updates using property management systems (e.g., Yardi, RealPage, OneSite)
- Maintain accurate records and track applicant status within internal systems
- Communicate with applicants and internal teams to collect and verify required information
- Support leasing operations and occupancy goals through timely and accurate application processing
- Ensure compliance with HUD, Section 8, LIHTC, and other applicable housing regulations
- Assist with audits, reporting, and data validation as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in property management, leasing, mortgage processing, or similar verification-focused roles
- Familiarity with affordable housing programs such as HUD, Section 8, or LIHTC is highly preferred
- Experience using property management platforms like Yardi, RealPage, or OneSite
- Strong data entry, documentation review, and verification skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills and multitasking capability
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in US property management or affordable housing compliance
- Experience in document verification, financial assessments, or background checks
- Prior experience working remotely with US-based clients
