
At Hotel Weyanoke, we take pride in delivering an exceptional guest experience through cleanliness, attention to detail, and teamwork. We’re looking for a dependable and hardworking Houseman to help maintain the appearance and cleanliness of our public spaces and support our housekeeping team.
This role is essential in creating a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment for our guests, team members, and visitors.
Compensation: $13.00 / hr
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Houseman, you’ll play a key behind-the-scenes role in hotel operations. Responsibilities include:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all public and back-of-house areas
- Clean and refresh spaces including the lobby, hallways, elevators, stairwells, conference rooms, and public restrooms
- Clean employee restrooms and basement areas daily
- Remove trash from interior and exterior areas, including lobby, offices, and smoking stations
- Vacuum carpets and rugs daily; shampoo as needed
- Clean interior and exterior windows on lower levels
- Sweep and mop stairwells, lobby, and basement areas
- Assist housekeeping by transporting dirty linens to the laundry room
- Support room attendants with stayover and checkout rooms as needed
- Break down and remove cardboard boxes from storage areas
- Maintain cleanliness of parking lot, sidewalks, and exterior grounds
- Water outdoor plants and maintain landscaping features
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are stored properly
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or suspicious activity to management
- Follow all safety and chemical handling procedures
What We're Looking For:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Reliable transportation required
- Strong work ethic and professional attitude
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and organizational skills
- No formal education required
