Job Summary:
This position is responsible for processing mortgage loan applications from participating originators and Fahe staff, working closely with lending partners to meet corporate lending goals. The Mortgage Loan Processor II works under moderate supervision, gaining proficiency in specific areas and assisting with training and supervision of Loan Processor I. Additionally, this role serves as backup for loan closing and post-closing responsibilities as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accepts, registers, and processes loans delivered to Fahe from members and staff, ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and meets underwriting standards.
- Works with customers, Fahe staff, and third-party vendors (appraisers, closing agents, investor reps) to ensure loans are processed, closed, and funded within a 45-day turn time, tracking and managing the loan process at each stage.
- Responds to inquiries from Fahe members and the public, providing information on mortgage programs, directing them to the appropriate originator, and maintaining positive relationships with all parties.
- Prepares, organizes, and submits loan application packages to investors, ensuring all required documents are complete, accurate, and in compliance with regulations.
- Collaborates with the Compliance Specialist to resolve quality control deficiencies, runs and reviews automated underwriting findings, and ensures all loans comply with programmatic and administrative regulations.
- Serves as backup for preparing closed loan packages, managing pre-close escrow reports, and processing checks and fees, ensuring compliance with financial requirements.
- Trains and supervises Loan Processor I, updates processing checklists and guides, and keeps up-to-date with industry trends and regulations through ongoing training.
- Communicates effectively within the team, resolves issues, and works collaboratively to ensure smooth operations and meet loan processing goals.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of information contained within Salesforce.
- Within the scope of departmental priorities, the input of information into Salesforce regarding the contact information, interactions with, and information changes for identified groups of contacts and organizations.
- Daily, timely response to assigned tasks, connected chatter, and other colleague interaction requested via Salesforce.
- Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: 2-year experience in finance/credit related industry required; 2-3 years’ industry experience preferred

- Skills:
- Knowledge of federal housing programs, laws and regulations.
- Critical thinking, analysis, problem-solving, planning, research, and organization.
- Basic administrative duties, attention to detail, and understanding of math principles.
- Proficient in grammar, business writing, and preparing reports
- Strong computer and office equipment skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
