Responsibilities
- Character Development and Integration: Create and integrate characters into our game engine, ensuring they meet the technical and artistic constraints of the project
- Advanced Rigging and Skinning: Develop complex rigs for characters, creatures, and animated objects, ensuring realistic and smooth deformation
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work under the responsibility of the Lead Tech Anim/Chara in close collaboration with animators, character modelers, programmers, and other departments to ensure harmonious integration of characters and their accessories
- Performance Optimization: Monitor character performance in the game engine and make necessary adjustments to optimize their functionality
- Tool Development: Create and maintain tools to improve the rigging and animation workflow, based on the specific needs of the project
- Physical Simulations Configuration: Configure ragdolls and cloth simulations for characters and animated objects
- Technical Support: Assist animators in resolving technical issues they encounter and provide suitable solutions
- Technological Watch: Stay informed about the latest technological advancements and share this knowledge with the team to continuously improve production processes
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Maya and Python
- Advanced skills in rigging and deformation (Body/Facial)
- Good oral and written communication skills in both French and English
- Ability to write clear and detailed documentation for tools put into production
- Team spirit, autonomy, and organization
- Ability to balance aesthetics, technical quality, and ergonomics
- Knowledge of MotionBuilder, Houdini, and Blender is a plus
