MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the performance of maintenance and repair activities under the supervision of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic;
Follow a checklist of inspection procedures;
Read and interpret diagnostic test results;
Raise trucks, buses and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists;
Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and/or equipment;
Assist with inspections as directed by the Motor Vehicle Mechanic;
Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts or equipment;
Dismount and Mount tires
Other Collateral Duties: Perform other duties as directed by the Workleader or Vehicle Fleet Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
Must possess a valid Ohio State driver’s license,
Must be able to obtain a security clearance for military base access,
3-6 months general vehicle repair and maintenance experience preferred,
Mechanical aptitude accepted in place of experience,
Basic knowledge of the standard practices in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles,
Basic knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles
