OVERVIEW
The Procurement Specialist supports Kruger Energy’s development and operations teams by executing day‑to‑day procurement activities for renewable energy projects. This role focuses on sourcing equipment and services, coordinating purchase orders, supporting RFP processes, and maintaining accurate procurement documentation. The incumbent contributes to cost‑effective, timely, and sustainable procurement aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Support the Director of Procurement in managing RFQs and RFPs, including gathering requirements, issuing bid packages, tracking questions, and compiling responses.
· Negotiate commercial terms and conditions for contracts, MSAs including redlining contracts, tracking changes, and documentation versioning.
· Assist in evaluating supplier proposals by comparing pricing, technical specifications, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
· Maintain regular communication with suppliers to confirm lead times, delivery schedules, and documentation requirements.
· Help build and maintain the supplier database by collecting qualification documents and tracking performance.
· Ensure suppliers meet sustainability and ESG expectations aligned with company standards.
· Gather market pricing for key renewable‑energy components (solar modules, racking, inverters, transformers, wind turbine, hydro-electric equipment, BESS, etc.) to support cost estimation efforts.
· Track market trends, supply chain risks, and pricing fluctuations and report insights to the Director of Procurement.
· Collaborate with project engineers and managers to understand procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of materials.
· Support contract administration by maintaining documentation, tracking deliverables, and assisting with change orders or clarifications.
· Participate in project close‑out by collecting procurement documentation and contributing to lessons‑learned exercises.
· Maintain accurate procurement files according to Kruger’s filing structure.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement workflows and enhance efficiency.
· Provide backup support for other members of the Energy Procurement Team including preparing requisition and issuing req purchase orders for equipment and services using the JDE enterprise system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal processes.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
· 2–5 years of experience in procurement, ideally in construction, industrial equipment, or renewable energy.
· Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards is an asset).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Strong organizational and analytical skills.
· Ability to interpret technical specifications and collaborate with engineering, legal, finance, and business development teams.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced project environment.

· Ability to break down complex, ambiguous or ill-defined challenges into actionable steps
· Knowledge of renewable‑energy components (PV modules, racking, inverters, wind turbines, hydro-electric, BESS, etc.).
LANGUAGES
· Bilingualism: spoken and written (French and English)
Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
