    RESPONSIBLE TO:  Responsible to the Principal 

     

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:     To provide leadership for the direction, supervision, and coordination of school administrative operations, instructional programs, and assigned personnel.                                  

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:   

    • Provide leadership for the development and implementation of instructional programs based on the adopted curriculum.
    • Provide leadership and encouragement to staff and students in achieving the basic skills essential to attaining high academic goals.
    • Provide for the maintenance of sound discipline consistent with establishing a positive school environment and achieving the maximum time on task for students and staff.
    • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents and the community, encouraging their participation and support.
    • Provide for the equitable direction, supervision, and evaluation of assigned certified and classified personnel.
    • Provide leadership for the continuing professional development of the certified staff.
    • Provide for the effective management and maintenance of the school plant consistent with available resources.
    • Maximum use of available auxiliary resources in achieving the instructional goals of the school.
    • Ensure the timely and efficient implementation and application of laws, policies, and procedures governing the operations of the school.
    • Provide for the prompt and accurate maintenance of all records and submission of all reports as assigned.
    • Participate in the state evaluation program and related professional development activities.

    Personal and Administrative Competencies:

    • Work with the school staff in developing short and long-range goals and seeking solutions to problems.
    • Establish priorities, set realistic goals, and follow projects through to the conclusion.
    • Reach high-quality decisions based on logical conclusions from a thorough review of available data.
    • Inspire enthusiasm, individual initiative, and self-confidence in employees.
    • Be supportive of all students, parents, and employees.
    • Promote professional pride and high standards of ethical conduct.
    • Be accessible to staff members, parents, students, and the community.
    • Communicate positive, clearly defined expectations to students, staff, parents, and the community.
    • Allocate resources consistent with established priorities and identified needs.
    • Produce clear and concise oral and written communications.
    • Demonstrate the highest personal commitment to assigned responsibilities, providing leadership by personal example.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.




     

    REQUIRED SKILLS: 

    • Educational background and practical knowledge of the most effective practices in safety, planning, curriculum and instruction, and school-based operations.
    • Proficiency is required in oral and written communication, interpersonal relations, and competency in organizing, planning, and evaluating.

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, OR TRAINING:

    • Tier I or Tier II Educational Leadership certification, or T-5 certification in any field with the requirement of a passing score on the GACE Educational Leadership Assessment and completion of an Educational Leadership Program within 3 years.

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Successful TKES/LKES evaluations and leadership experience.
