Are you looking for the easiest, Monday through Thursday/Friday summer job ever with limited customer service?

Pierson Computing Connection, Inc., a woman-owned technology services company, needs summer seasonal, full-time help on our climate-controlled configuration production line. At Pierson, we prepare technology devices for use in schools, hospitals, and other institutions. No experience necessary. Pierson provides paid training. 


This is not an “IT” job. You will primarily be doing physical labor unboxing and boxing technology devices in a warehouse.


Work begins in mid-May. We are hiring 27 Configuration Associates for this summer, but we are only hiring 18 who cannot work through the week of August 24, 2026. Apply early to get your spot.

Wages/Hours
$17.50/hour + $40 per day per diem for overnight travel.


This is an hourly overtime-eligible position. Overtime is possible with management approval. 


This position works 40 hours a week within the configuration center work schedule of Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7 to 11 a.m. Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. with advance notice. Some shifts may occasionally start work at 5 a.m. Saturday hours from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. may be available on a voluntary basis in July and August. Shifts will be no longer than 10 hours. Work hours will be communicated in advance. 


This position includes an unpaid 30-minute break when working five hours or more.


What Configuration Associates Do
The Configuration Associate configures and images laptops, tablets, and other technology to customer specifications by uploading operating systems, applications, security, software and hardware, permissions, and other settings, among other configuration services. This position also makes or assists with deliveries to Pierson customers and helps as needed in the warehouse.

  • Configure and image laptops, tablets, and other technology to customer specifications.
  • Complete asset tagging, wiring, and cart building.
  • Unbox and repack hardware and accessories.
  • Utilize Pierson’s inventory control software to execute data capture within the configuration process.
  • Pack, palletize, and label pallets of product after production.
  • Make, as a driver, or assist another driver with, deliveries to Pierson customers. This will require one overnight per month. Most travel will be day trips. Vehicles to be driven range from minivans to panel vans (example: Mercedes Sprinter Panel Van).
  • Occasionally assist in receiving and shipping product from ground and less-than-truckload (LTL) small freight carriers.
  • Meet team goals and individual production rates.
  • Maintain a clear, safe working environment.
  • Help warehouse staff with loading and unloading trucks, moving heavy boxes, inventory counts, trash collection, sorting, and disposal, order picking, and parts assembly.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What Competencies Configuration Associates Need

  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Knowledge of basic computer, tablet, and accessory operations, including web-based applications, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Google Workspace, and QR and barcode scanners.
  • Able to read proficiently, speak clearly and concisely, engage in active listening, and exercise near-vision acuity.
  • Able to execute repeated fine manipulations of fingers.
  • Able to use a cell phone or web-based application (HCMtoGo) to track hours worked by project.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Able to operate a manual pallet jack.


Required Education and Experience

The following requirements are job-related and consistent with business necessity.

  • High school degree or equivalent or will graduate prior to work beginning.
  • Age 18 or older, due to travel requirements or age 18 prior to work beginning.
  • Class C (passenger vehicle) driver’s license with a clean driving record and one year of driving experience.
  • Able to pass a basic math skills test encompassing addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculating percentages.
  • Any prior experience with delivering products to customers.


Preferred Education and Experience

The following requirements are job-related and consistent with business necessity.

  • Current enrollment or an associate degree in a computer science or related field. 
  • Two years of experience in a comparable position.


Physical Requirements

  • Lift and hold up to 50 pounds up to shoulder height.
  • Carry up to 50 pounds while walking up to 50 feet.
  • Kneel and bend on a frequent basis.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force pushing or pulling carts and pallet jacks.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds overhead.
  • Stand on your feet during a 10-hour shift.


Additional Eligibility Requirements
Upon offer of employment, selected candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and Federal Criminal History, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record, Motor Vehicle Record, and Pennsylvania Child Abuse History background check at Pierson’s expense.


Reports To
This position reports to a Team Lead, Configuration Services.


Travel
This position requires outbound travel driving/assisting with customer deliveries in a mini-van, including trips requiring one overnight stay a month occurring on a Monday through Thursday/Friday.
