Job Description

Nursing Unit Secretary
Mother-Baby 3AB

The Nursing Unit Secretary will:

  • Serve as the central focus of communication for the Patient-Care Unit
  • Coordinate the clerical functions of the Unit- assisting with charting, admissions and discharges, etc
  • Maintain organization within Nurse's station to promote an orderly workflow
  • Receive, sort, and organize all interdepartmental communications
  • Schedule and coordinate special patient appointments with other departments as directed by Health Care Team Members within an appropriate amount of time
  • Answer call bells and assisting as appropriate
    Answer a high volume of phone calls
  • Welcome and assist all visitors to the unit

Requirements:

  • Work requires the ability to read and transcribe Physician orders.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills essential.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of Hospital personnel, patients and visitors.
  • Good communication/phone skills required.

Salary Range: 17.30 - 23.36 USD

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
