Job Description

Title: Social Media Marketer and Editor
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Marketing Videographer


Job Summary: Join the university’s marketing team to help create videos that tell Dordt’s story. This role focuses on creating short-form, social-first content - primarily shot on a phone - to showcase campus culture, events, and the Dordt experience. You’ll help identify trends, create engaging posts, and contribute to growing Dordt’s social presence. No professional experience required - just creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
 

Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Capture day-to-day campus life using a smartphone (events, student moments, behind-the-scenes)
- Create short-form video content for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms
- Identify and execute on current social media trends
- Assist in posting, scheduling, and managing social content
- Collaborate with the marketing team on content ideas and campaigns
 

What We’re Looking For:
- Basic computer skills; experience with Adobe Premiere is a plus but not required
- Interest in video production, editing, or social media
- Willingness to learn video tools (we’ll help train you!)
- Comfortable asking questions and trying new things
- Creative mindset and attention to detail
- Dependable and able to manage your time well
