Summary of Position
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for repairing and performing maintenance on a variety of food-plant equipment, systems, and related machinery panels.
Functions OF The Position:
- The technician troubleshoots and repairs plant equipment, systems, and machinery panels.
- This work represents the primary focus of the role.
- The position also performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment, using appropriate hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
- In addition, the technician may fabricate parts when necessary to support maintenance needs.
- The role also assists with general building maintenance or repair activities as required.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Knowledge
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must have at least five years of experience in repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of electrical components and wiring is required, including the ability to troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480 volts.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations None required.
Skills and Competencies
- The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills. The technician must be able to work from extended heights and perform tasks on elevated platforms.
