SUMMARY

The Paint Prep Technician plays a key role in preparing vehicles for the refinishing and reassembly process. You�ll ensure each vehicle is ready for paint with precision and attention to detail, supporting a smooth production flow and top-quality finish.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review each repair order carefully before beginning work.

  • Complete all vehicle paint preparation processes, including sanding, feather-edging, and priming.

  • Prime, edge, or jam replacement parts as needed.

  • Properly block panels for refinishing and mask vehicles to prevent overspray.

  • Apply correct primer coats according to specifications.

  • Follow OSHA guidelines and all safety procedures, including hazardous waste disposal.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Valid driver�s license required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

  • Perform repetitive tasks and handle objects over 50 lbs.

  • Bend, kneel, squat, and stoop as needed for repairs.

  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and depth perception.

  • Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, and noise; must be able to wear PPE including a respirator.
