Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding individual to help build and scale our electrode fabrication capabilities using our in-house roll-to-roll manufacturing equipment. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience preparing electrode precursors and slurry coatings, and learn to coat, calender, and post-process electrodes at the pilot scale.

You will arrive at the ground floor as we continue to grow our ElectroFactory and will be working in lockstep with our electrode fabrication team to increase our electrode production velocity. Your contributions will directly impact real technologies with real applications.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Safely handle chemicals including acids, bases, oxidants, and compressed gases
  • Design and execute experiments to optimize slurry mechanical properties
  • Assist in operating a pilot-scale slurry mixer, roll-to-roll coating line, and electrode calendering system
  • Document procedures, results, and safety protocols
  • Prepare, validate, and analyze electrode precursors and finished electrodes

What You'll Gain

  • Hands-on experience with scaling up processes relevant to battery manufacturing
  • Mentorship from experienced engineers and researchers
  • The opportunity to contribute to technologies used in the real world
