Job Description

Full-Time | Nelson Coleman Jewelers - Flagship Location- Towson, Md

Do You Love Bringing Order to a Busy, Detail-Driven Team?

Maybe you're in retail or operations right now and you're good at it - but it feels routine. Maybe you've worked in a service environment and you love the pace, but you're ready for work that has real weight to it.

If you're the person who keeps things running behind the scenes, catches the details others miss, and takes genuine pride in doing things right - we'd love to meet you.

A Little About Us

Nelson Coleman Jewelers has been part of Maryland families for generations. We help people mark the moments that matter most - engagements, anniversaries, milestone birthdays, and the quiet "just because" gifts that mean the most. When a client hands us their grandmother's ring for repair, they're trusting us with something irreplaceable. We take that seriously.

We're a real family business with a close-knit team, and we're looking for someone who fits that culture: precise, dependable, and proud of the work they do.

What This Job Actually Looks Like

  • Receiving, logging, and tracking every repair and re-imagination job that comes through our service department
  • Coordinating work between our in-house bench jeweler and contracted services - keeping everything on schedule
  • Providing estimates to clients and the sales team, and performing simple on-the-spot repairs like watch battery replacements
  • Doing quality checks on every completed piece before it goes back to the client
  • Keeping bench supplies stocked, repair reports current, and the department running smoothly
  • Supporting the sales floor and customer service team when coverage is needed

Most of your day is spent juggling detail and communication. If that kind of work satisfies you, you'll fit right in.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in jewelry repairs, gemology, or a closely related field
  • You hold an AJP, GIA Graduate Gemologist, or Graduate Diamonds certification, if not yet no worries we will help you get there.
  • People would describe you as organized, reliable, and genuinely thorough
  • You communicate clearly - with teammates, vendors, and clients alike
  • You're comfortable learning and coaching others on repair processes
  • You want work that feels meaningful, not just a job

What we can't teach is the kind of care and ownership that makes someone truly great at this role - that has to come from you.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay - your skill and experience are recognized
  • Paid, hands-on training so you feel confident from day one
  • A path to further GIA certification if you want to grow in the industry
  • A tight-knit team that celebrates each other and genuinely supports your success
  • The satisfaction of doing work that matters to people

How to Apply

Send your resume and a short note - just a few sentences - about a repair or service situation where your attention to detail made a real difference. That's it. We read every single application ourselves.

Nelson Coleman Jewelers is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome and encourage applicants from all backgrounds.
