Westland Insurance Group Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist (hybrid) at our Head Office in Surrey, BC.

Are you a highly skilled talent partner who thrives on building strong relationships, influencing hiring decisions, and driving recruitment strategy? Do you bring deep expertise in sourcing, pipelining, and full-cycle recruitment, along with a strong ability to partner with hiring managers and drive successful hiring outcomes? Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $76,000 to $95,000 based on a 35-hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role, and internal equity.

As a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play a critical role in shaping Westland’s talent strategy and supporting business growth. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and senior leaders, bringing expertise, insights, and a proactive approach to attracting and hiring top talent. In addition to managing full-cycle recruitment, you will contribute to projects, operations and process improvements, mentor team members, and help elevate the overall Talent Acquisition function.

Why we’ll love You: 

 

  • 5+ years of full-cycle, high-volume recruitment experience, preferably in a service-driven environment
  • Proven ability to manage complex or hard-to-fill roles while balancing multiple requisitions
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and guide hiring managers, including experience supporting senior leaders
  • Advanced and creative sourcing and headhunting expertise, with a strong focus on proactive pipeline development using Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and targeted campaigns
  • Exceptional ability to engage and “sell” opportunities to passive candidates, crafting compelling outreach and effectively pitching roles and the Westland story
  • Experience with rural recruitment and creative sourcing techniques to attract talent in hard-to-reach or specialized markets is an asset
  • Strong operational mindset with experience driving process improvements, contributing to TA projects, and helping elevate the overall recruitment function
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to delivering a high-touch, white-glove experience to both candidates and hiring managers

Once here, you'll:

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment across assigned client groups, including complex, high-impact, and hard-to-fill roles
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and senior leaders to understand needs, guide hiring strategies, and drive effective outcomes
  • Lead proactive sourcing efforts, building and maintaining strong, diverse talent pipelines through creative and targeted strategies
  • Engage and attract passive candidates by effectively pitching opportunities and bringing the Westland story to life
  • Deliver a high-touch, white-glove candidate and hiring manager experience throughout the recruitment process
  • Provide guidance and best practices to hiring managers across all stages of hiring, influencing strong hiring decisions
  • Identify and implement improvements to recruitment processes, tools, and workflows, contributing to the evolution of the TA function
  • Collaborate on recruitment initiatives and cross-functional HR projects while championing diversity, equity, inclusion, and the use of AI tools
